Bishworjit Singh Saikhom of the Indian Army wins India's 1st ever Ironman 70.3 triathlon
Bishworjit Singh Saikhom of the Indian Army emerged victorious in India's first-ever Ironman 70.3 triathlon held in Goa on Sunday. The 29-year-old athlete serves as Havildar with the Bombay Sappers in the Indian Army. Saikhom covered the extremely demanding distance of 1.9 km swim, 90km cycling and 21 km run in 4 hours 42 minutes 44 seconds. India’s Nihal Baig came 2nd with a time of 4 hours 47 minutes 47 seconds.
