Seven-time Cincinnati champion Federer, in his first match since Wimbledon, needed just 61 minutes to see off Juan Londero 6-3 6-4 in their rain-halted encounter. Meanwhile, defending champion, Novak Djokovic survived a nervous start to beat Sam Querrey 7-5 6-1 at the Cincinnati Masters as the world number one was also playing for the first time since beating Roger Federer in last month’s Wimbledon final.
