Football's prestigious award Ballon d'Or will not be presented this year as the coronavirus pandemic disrupted the season midway. The France Football magazine honors a player with the award every year since Stanley Matthews clinched one in 1956. Notably, the magazine also started giving out a women's award in 2018, which has also been put on hold. Lionel Messi won a record sixth Ballon d'Or in 2019.
