Deepak Punia, 1st Indian junior world champion in 18 years

Beating Russia's Alik Shebzukov Deepak Punia clinched gold to win the 86kg junior freestyle title. With this, he become India's first junior World Champion in 18 years. Ramesh Kumar (69 kg) and Palwinder Singh Cheema (130 kg) were the last Indian to bag gold at the junior world championship in 2001. Meanwhile, Vicky Chahar won bronze in the 92 kg category by beating Mongolia's Batmagnai Enkhtuvshin.
