Veteran Indian Cricketer Madhav Apte passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday morning. The former Indian opener was about to turn 87 on October 5. He took his last breath at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. Apte played 7 tests for India from 1952-53 scoring a record 542 runs at an average of 49.27 that included 1 century and 3 half-centuries. He scored 3336 runs in 67 1st class matches with 6 centuries and 16 50s.
