Gaurav Bidhuri falls short in semi-final, settles for bronze at World Boxing Championships

Gaurav Bidhuri completed his dream debut at the AIBA World Boxing Championships with a bronze in the bantamweight category (56kg), becoming the fourth Indian after Vijender Singh, Vikas Krishan, and Shiva Thapa to win a medal at the global meet. He lost his semifinal clash to American Duke Ragan. Earlier, Amit Phangal (49kg) and Kavinder Bisht (56kg) had bowed out in the quarterfinal stage.
