Gayle named West Indies vice-captain for World Cup

West Indies cricket board has announced big-hitting opener Chris Gayle as the deputy to captain Jason Holder for the 50-over World Cup, which starts at the end of this month in England and Wales. This will be former captain Gayle’s fifth World Cup and has hit over 10,000 runs in 289 ODIs for the Caribbeans. West Indies, the champions in 1975 & 1979, begin their World Cup campaign on May 31 when they face Pakistan.
