Shubman Gill’s 48 off 42 balls couldn’t save Punjab as suffered a 2-run defeat to Hyderabad under VJD method in a rain-hit T20 match in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Opting to bowl first, Punjab restricted Hyderabad to 149 for 7 from 20 overs as Akshath Reddy top-scoring with 47 off 27 balls. Punjab’s target was reworked to 100 from 14 overs because of the rains under VJD method but they could only manage 97 for 4.
