Team India finished in 24th position at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships with the biggest-ever medals tally i.e. 9 medals. Until Dubai 2019, London 2017 had been India's best-ever show where the para-athletes finished with 5 medals. India recorded 2 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze in Dubai besides a few 4th place finishes and thus secured 13 qualifying spots at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics.
