Johanna Konta became the first British woman in 36 years to make it to the French Open semis beating last year’s runner-up Sloane Stephens of US 6-1, 6-4 on Tuesday. Jo Durie was the last British woman to reach the French Open semifinals in 1983. Konta had never won a match at Roland Garros in any of her previous four appearances. She had reached the last four at 2016 Australian Open and Wimbledon in 2017.
