After surviving a scare in preliminary rounds to reach quarters, Kidambi Srikanth loses to World No 2 Kento Momota in the quarterfinals by 9-21 11-21. With this, his campaign comes to an end at the USD one million China Open BWF World Tour Super 1000 tournament. He had 3-7 head-to-head record against Momota, and this time also Momota gave no chance to Indian to comeback. PV Sindhu remains India's only hope in the tournament.
