PV Sindhu becomes the first Indian to win a gold medal at BWF World Championships

In 3rd straight BWF World Championships final, Pv Sindhu beat Nozomi Okuhara from Japan 21-7, 21-7 to win a gold medal in the World Championships 2019. With this, she became the first Indian to win the marquee tournament and also the second player ever to win five World Championship medals. PV Sindhu thanked her coach Kim (Ji Hyun) and Gopi sir and dedicated her World Championships gold medal to her mother P. Vijaya.
