The Kapil Dev-led three-member Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Anshuman Gaekwad, and Shantha Rangaswamy named Ravi Shastri as the head coach of Team India for the period starting September 5 till November 24, 2021. Robin Singh, Lalchand Rajput, Mike Hesson, and Tom Moody were also competing for the position. Phil Simmons who was among the 6 shortlisted candidates backed out ahead of his interview.
