B Sai Praneeth’s impressive run at the BWF World Championships ended after losing to Kento Momota in the semifinal to settle for bronze. He became the first Indian male shuttler in 36 years to win a medal at the BWF event after Prakash Padukone who won a bronze in 1983. Praneeth’s attacking approach couldn’t break the defense of Momota as he went down to the Japanese World No.1 13-21 8-21 in a 41-minute encounter.
