Former Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara has been announced as the first non-British president of Marylebone Cricket Club and will take charge of his one-year post in October. Sangakkara, who has 12,400 runs in 134 tests, can be seen twice on the Lord’s honours boards. He smashed a brilliant 147 in the drawn Test against England in 2014, and then a superb 112 in Sri Lanka’s ODI win on the same tour of England.
