Saudi Arabia to host first-ever women’s golf tournament

Women’s rights are a contentious issue in Saudi Arabia attracting criticism. But now, Saudi is set to host the country’s first-ever women’s golf tournament from March 19 next year at the Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in Jeddah, while 108 professionals will take part in the event. The Ladies European Tour event will be staged in by Golf Saudi and Saudi Golf Federation. It will carry a winning purse of $1 million.
