American singer Taylor Swift has cancelled her Melbourne Cup performance after she received criticism from animal rights groups. Taylor's performance was scheduled during the Australian horse-racing event, but she pulled out of the event after a number of people urged her to cancel her show as it has caused the death of 6 horses since 2013. The animal lovers termed the event as "gambling-fuelled cruelty".
