War of words between BCCI and Star over Virat Kohli's Asia Cup absence

Star network, which bought the Asia Cup rights for eight years in 2016, has raised objection over BCCI's decision to rest Virat Kohli for the 15-day tournament, saying that absence of the star cricketer will affect both the broadcaster and the stakeholders and goes against the implicit clauses of their eight-year agreement. BCCI replied that Star cannot have a say in their internal selection matters.
