D.C. United star Wayne Rooney has been handed an additional one-match ban following his sending off against New York Red Bulls on August 21 during an MLS fixture. Rooney was handed a red card after hitting Red Bulls midfielder Cristian Casseres during a penalty box confrontation. An automatic one-game suspension was already in effect which Rooney served last weekend during United’s game with Philadelphia Union.
