Exercising the "right to be forgotten" laws, approximately 2.4 million of requests have been witnessed by Google with the main intention of removal of the URLs from its search engine. Out of these URLs, 21% were related to news outlets and government websites that mostly covered someone’s legal history and the remaining one third were on social media and directory services. These laws were introduced in May 2014.
