In order to remove debris orbiting Earth, the RemoveDEBRIS satellite, built by the Surrey Space Centre at the University of Surrey, just successfully tested capture of a target probe with the means of a big net. The British satellite will test more low-key, affordable means of space debris removal using a harpoon to spear objects and a drag sail to slow down debris and make them fall faster to the Earth.
