After facing criticism over its 'censored' search engine for Chinese market, Google has shut down the project. In the year 2008, Google bought Chinese web-directory www.265.com web-directory to use it as a honeypot to survey the Chinese market. However, the teams are not gathering Chinese search queries any longer. Google CEO Sundar Pichai recently said that Google has no plan to launch a search engine in China.
