Cryptocurrency mining is killing Earth faster than coal mining

To mine cryptocurrency massive amount of electricity is required and according to a study the global temperature would rise by 2 degree in just 15 years if the society starts adopting the cryptocurrencies. If they are adopted in a slow rate it would take 22 years. Overall Bitcoin mining looks scarier for earth than coal mining as it emitted 69 million metric tons of CO2 in 2017, much more than the power plants.
