Did Apple know about the Facetime bug?

The users of the iPhone are troubled because of the news of a disastrous Facetime bug that might turn the phones into spy devices. Unable to solve the issue Apple has disabled the group Facetime feature on 28th January. However, on January 20th, one user on Twitter has tagged Apple to inform them of a major security flaw in the new iOS. The user also tweeted to Tim Cook regarding the issue but nobody did revert to her.
