Making genetically edited babies lands Chinese scientist in trouble

Chinese scientist He Jiankui, who claimed to have created the first genetically edited babies, has been placed under house arrest at Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen. The authenticity of these experiments has not been established yet. He can't leave the house arrest facility but is allowed to make calls and send emails. The university has publicly denied reports of his detainment.
