Network equipment company, Sandvine has found that major internet traffic is caused by video streaming, followed by web browsing and gaming. The report revealed that Netflix is the biggest contributor to the downstream traffic worldwide, with a share of 15% of the traffic. Among video streaming services, Netflix also has the maximum market share at 26.58%. The major contributor for upstream traffic is BitTorrent.
