39 aircraft engine damage incidents reported in last 4 years; 20 pilots forged docs to get licenses

Civil Aviation Ministry revealed that a total of 20 pilots had forged documents to get licenses since 2010; of which 15 were suspended & 5 were debarred, or ATPL was canceled. In response to a Rajya Sabha query, minister Hardeep Singh Puri informed that 39 incidents of damages to aircraft engines were reported in last 4 years- 17 in 2018, 9 in 2017, 7 in 2015 & 6 in 2016. Central govt has taken steps to prevent such incidents.
