Govt asks Air India to freeze all appointments and large-scale promotions

Due to the proposed privatization, the govt has asked Air India to freeze all appointments & large-scale promotions. New flights must be started only when it is extremely necessary and after due diligence from the commercial aspect. The direction has come from the DIPAM. It has already reconstituted the GoM to decide course of privatization. Civil aviation minister said that Air India has to be privatised in order to save it.
