TripAdvisor defends itself against accusations of misguiding travelers with fake reviews. A total of almost 250,000 reviews for 10 top-ranked hotels in 10 global tourist destinations from Las Vegas to Cape Town were analyzed. The findings revealed that 1 in 7 of the hotels had blatant hallmarks of fake reviews, with others giving rise to serious concerns. However, TripAdvisor called the analysis flawed.
