Mohammad Shami is living his dream WC as he has claimed 14 wickets in the four matches he has played. But, he was given rest by the team during the match against Sri Lanka. This didn't go well with Pakistan cricket analysts as they blamed Modi saying, He wouldn’t have dropped. I think there is pressure on the team to bench Shami. I think BJP’s agenda of not letting the Muslims progress is the reason for Shami being benched.
