Insurers of ICC-World Cup lost Rs 180 crore due to rain

Indian insurance companies are going to lose Rs 150-180 crore in the ICC world cup due to cancellation of matches caused by rain. The sum insured for an ordinary match is Rs 60 crore and for special matches like the amount is around Rs 70-80 crore. For a crucial match like Ind vs Pak, it can touch Rs 125 crore. The cover is provided by Llyod who have maxed out on its capacity to provide for ICC WC.
