Lasith Malinga entered an elite list of bowlers after taking a 3-wicket haul in Sri Lanka's 34-run win over Afghanistan. He finished with figures of 3/39 to break into the list of top-5 wicket-takers in WC history. He joined the elite list featuring the likes of Glenn McGrath, Wasim Akram, and Muttiah Muralitharan. Malinga now has 46 wickets in 24 World Cup matches as he surpassed Zaheer Khan to take the 5th position.
