Simona Halep is a Romanian professional tennis player who was born on September 27, 1991. Between 2017 and 2019, she was ranked world No. 1 in singles twice, for a total of 64 weeks, which ranks eleventh in the history of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) rankings. Halep was the year-end number one in both 2017 and 2018. She has two Grand Slam singles titles: the French Open in 2018 and the Wimbledon Championships in 2019. Halep was ranked in the top 10 for 373 consecutive weeks, the eighth-longest streak in WTA history, from 27 January 2014 to 8 August 2021.
