Tamil Nadu CM laid foundation of 150 MLD-desalination plant in Chennai

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu K. Palaniswami has laid the foundation stone for the 150 MLD-desalination plant near Chennai on Thursday. The govt., talking about the project said that its outlay is going to be Rs 1,259.38 crore. At present, there are just 2 desalination plants each with a capacity of 100 million liters a day serving 10 lakh residents of North Chennai and 9 lakh of South Chennai.
