The New York Times Company is an American media corporation that owns and operates The New York Times newspaper. Its headquarters are located in Manhattan, New York. Henry Jarvis Raymond and George Jones founded the company in New York City. On September 18, 1851, the first edition of The New York Times stated, "We publish today the first issue of the New-York Daily Times, and we intend to issue it every morning (except Sundays) for an indefinite number of years to come."
