Some so many people are born special. But this doesn't mean that they are not capable of something. Actually, they are more capable than every one of us and hence, they are special. But the mindset of people regarding disable persons is quite unjustified.

Franklin Roosevelt

Franklin Roosevelt was a rising star in the Democratic Party in 1921 when polio struck and paralyzed his legs. He was determined to walk again so that he could resume his political career. He never accomplished his goal of walking. But he returned to public life. When disabled people were frequently institutionalized, Roosevelt and his insistence on "good cheer" won the hearts of the people and not got elected as a president once but four times.

Christopher Reeve

Christopher Reeve is best known for his role as Superman in the late 1970s and early 1980s films. He was competing in an equestrian event in 1995 when he was thrown from his horse and landed on his head. His spinal cord was damaged, leaving him a quadriplegic and reliant on a portable ventilator to breathe. He continued acting and directing after his accident.

Stephen Hawking

Stephen Hawking was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease when he was 21 years old. He was told he wouldn't make it to the age of 25. Let's fast forward 50 years. Hawking is still alive and fighting his debilitating disease, refusing to let it interfere with his career. He was a full professor of mathematics at Cambridge University for 30 years.

Nick Vujicic

Nick Vujicic was born without limbs and was not expected to live. Almost no one with tetra-amelia syndrome survives childhood. However, Nick did. Even though he has no legs, he was born with two tiny feet, one of which has fused toes. After surgery to separate those toes, he learned to use them as fingers to perform various tasks. He graduated from Griffith University with the help of his family and is a great motivational speaker.

Frida Kahlo

One famous quote attributed to Frida Kahlo is, "Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?" Her career as an artist demonstrates that she did, in fact, allow her talent to take her to new heights. She was born in Mexico in 1907 and suffered from polio as a child, which left her right leg and foot severely damaged. When she was 17, she was in a car accident that left her with severe hip and spine injuries. She began painting self-portraits after her accident. Many of her works blend realism and fantasy, and they address issues such as identity, gender, class, and race.

Teal Sherer

Teal's back was severely injured in a car accident when she was 14 years old, and she lost the ability to use her legs as a result. She didn't let that deter her from pursuing her dream of attending college. She discovered her talent for acting while attending Oglethorpe University. She went on to appear in several plays and in the 2004 film Warm Springs.

Jack Carroll

At the age of 14, Jack Carroll competed on Britain's Got Talent and finished as runner-up. He has cerebral palsy and uses a wheelchair. He has pursued an acting career and is known for using his cerebral palsy in his comedy. In 2012, he received a Pride of Britain award for Teenager of Courage. He's only 20 years old, making him the youngest person on our list.
