On this day in 2001, a five-member suicide squad comprised of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists attacked Parliament House when the Lok Sabha was in session: the Houses were adjourned at the time of the assault, but some politicians and staff were present inside. The assailants arrived in an Ambassador automobile and gained admission thanks to a falsified government sticker. However, as the automobile approached the Parliament complex, one of the staff members got suspicious.
