Ford Motor and Mahindra and Mahindra scrap their previously announced joint venture amid Covid

US-based automobile firm Ford Motor Corporation and India's Mahindra & Mahindra have called off their previously announced automotive joint venture amid the Covid pandemic. The decision to scrap the joint venture came after the 'longstop' or expiration date of a definitive agreement- December 31, 2020, passed. The firms will continue their independent operations in India. The two firms had announced the venture in October 2019.
