The automobile sector in India is reeling under a semiconductor chip shortage that has affected various sectors across the world. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, the sales of passenger vehicles in the country crashed by 41% in September. The next few months are likely to remain the same due to the global shortage of chips. The sales of motorcycles and scooters also fell to 1.5 million from 1.8 million.
