Swarovski has apologised to China for describing Hong Kong as a country on its website. China has become strict regarding its territorial claims and sovereignty. Even in 2018, Marriott and Delta Airlines also owed an apology to the Chinese govt. Swarovski posted on Facebook that it always had "firmly respected" China's national sovereignty and territorial integrity. This way China is establishing its firm influence.
