China's smartphone shipment declined
During 2017, China's smartphone market faced the first decline in shipment. The numbers in Q4 were down 14% on one year previous with 113 million units shipped. Despite the market saturation, Huawei and Xiaomi continued to grow. Even though Oppo and Vivo are expanding in various countries globally, they have faced a dip in China as the number fell 17%. US has proven a tougher market to crack for the Chinese brands.
