China's Singles' Day generated 250,000 tonnes of waste as it smashes records
Similar to the Black Friday in the US, China has Singles Day is celebrates on 11th Nov every year by people who are single, relationship-wise and truly happy about it. This year Singles Day broke all sales records but these records come at a price to the environment. As per Greenpeace, waste generation from China's e-commerce and express delivery sectors would quadruple by the year 2025 until strict protocols aren't put.
