Contractual workers to be marked as 'on Duty' during lockdown, get paid: Finance Minister

As most parts of the country are under lockdown due to the outbreak of the novel Coronavirus, daily wage workers fear the risk of losing their source of earning. To address their fear, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman took to Twitter and said that contractual workers will be paid during the lockdown period and that the employees will be marked as 'on duty'. She has also allowed states and UTs to lift foodgrains for 3 months.
