The richest state and most populous state of India i.e. Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are the states leading the ongoing economic slowdown in the country. MP, the heart of the nation, Haryana and Assam are also among the states where consumption is expected to slump this year. The slowdown is driven by north & west zones where growth has slumped to single-digit in Q2, as per market research firm Nielsen India's report.
