DPIIT to ensure 1/3rd beneficiaries of Startup India belong to women

The Dept for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade will ensure that at least 1/3rd of the beneficiaries of Start-up India programme are women. DPIIT officials said that they would organize interactions of women entrepreneurs with banks and venture capital funds. They are planning to earmark Rs 1,000cr out of a fund of funds to empower women-centric start-ups. Online and offline courses will be developed for this venture.
