E-wallet usage up after demonetization, 8 out 10 users recharge mobiles and pay utility bills

A study by market research firm Velocity MR has revealed that 'smartphone growth wave and the favourable regulatory environment from RBI has pushed up online payments significantly' with 9 out of 10 people using e-wallet transactions for mobile recharges and 8 out of 10 using them for paying utility bills. The study also stated that people earning Rs. 1.5 to 2 lakh per month prefer using credit card for transactions.
