After Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday declared a 21 day lockdown to break the chain of coronavirus spread, analysts on Wednesday sharply cut their growth estimates, pegging the cost of the Covid-19 lockdown at $120 billion (approximately Rs 9 lakh crore) or 4 per cent of the GDP. RBI is scheduled to announce its first bi-monthly policy review on April 3 and is set to deliver deep rate cuts.
