Finance Ministry extends Income tax filing, Aadhaar-Pan linking deadline to June 30

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday announced that the government has extended the income tax filing deadline for the financial year 2018-19 to June 30, 2020, from March 31. Aadhaar-PAN card linking has also been extended to June 30 in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic in India. The interest rate on TDS has been slashed to 9% from 18%. The interest on delay in filing returns has been reduced to 9% from 12%.
