Former Finance Secretary thinks Rs 2,000 notes should be demonetised

Former Finance Secretary Subhash Chandra Garg said that India should implement an active policy of de-nationalising public sector undertakings and should promote privatisation. The former secretary said in a note published on Thursday, the government should manage its own debt instead of RBI and demonetise Rs 2,000 notes. Garg resigned as Power Secretary and opted for voluntary retirement on October 31
