France to create joint G7 cryptocurrency task force

France is setting up a Group of Seven Nations (G7) task force to check how central banks can ensure cryptocurrencies follow the money-laundering and consumer protection rules. The move comes days after Facebook announced it will soon launch the digital currency Libra. G7 isn’t against Facebook’s Libra but it sees the instrument becoming a sovereign currency a larger threat to the world economy in the near future.
